At the same time Ikkakumon and Armadillomon are scaring the three rogue digimon by making it look like they will be cooked in various cuisines. Once the boy makes it to shore safely, he introduces himself as Derek. Turns out he's a digidestined, and he is being chased by 3 digimon (Shellmon, Gekomon, Ebidramon). Suddenly, a boy on a sailboard cries out for help. He tells the boys that they must get to the Great Barrier Reef where the last of the control spires is standing. The man turns out to be Gennai's Australian counterpart, Hogan. Joe and Cody are working on a control spire when up comes Santa in a bathing suit. Even though it's Christmas time, the weather is very hot. On the beach of Australia Cody with Digmon and Joe with Ikkakumon are destroying control spires.
