Im using nouveau drivers since they work well in my graphics and my graphics is in EOL but i had tried with nvidia and it had the same results. The funny thing is that if i restart my laptop without external screen connected, login and the connect my external screen after im already inside kde the screen works well. But after that when i reboot it always gives me login screen nice on both screen but as soon i enter in the kde enviroment i see the desktop on my external screen for a second and then black screen with only mouse pointer. The first time i turn on the machine after installation it gives image in the external and lvds screen of my laptop. Im new to linux and i installed arch linux with kde. I'm also planning on encrypting the Linux drive for privacy reasons, would this keep it safe from the Windows snooping and/or potential Windows malware? Also how would this work? Is it a pain to have the entire drive encrypted or do you just have to enter a password every time you log in? Can anyone recommend any good encryption software? submitted by /u/inbredtrash

I'm also not sure whether or not my MOBO drivers are compatible with Linux, this is the MOBO I have: how would I install drivers? Would this work okay? Could there be any problems with this setup? I plan on having Linux Mint LMDE, Win 7 and Win 10 LTSC installed on 3 different hard drives, one for each OS, this is because I still need Windows for a bunch of necessary software. I want to move for privacy and security reasons but there are a few things I'm wondering. I'm currently on Windows 7 which I cannot stay on for much longer because of the EOL as well as all the backdoors inside the OS.

Right now I have the nouveau driver installed ( xf86-video-nouveau).ĮDIT: the nvidia package has the same issue, xrandr shows a secondary display aswell I am thinking this has to do with my graphics drivers. I don't have a secondary display though as nothing is connected to the laptop.

My xrandr output shows me as having two displays (eDP-1, my actual laptop display) and DP-2-3.

Simply go to the unresponsive tab, copy the current URL, and open a new tab with that URL. Newly created tabs will function normally. You might think Chrome is broken, but it is not. Note that if in Settings > On startup, you selected "Continue where you left off", restarting with Chrome 44 may cause all tabs to be unresponsive. Opening the file while 45 or later is installed will simply open Chrome. Uninstall Chrome if you have 45 or later. To download, click ".157_chrome64_installer.exe" for 64-bit and the other for 32-bit, and click "Raw". This is the final version of Google Chrome with NPAPI.
